Help Finding Model and Serial Numbers
Why do I need a product model and serial numbers?
Here is help to find your Model and Serial numbers. Power Equipment has been manufactured for over a hundred years. When a manufacturer starts making products, they always start with one, but as they make changes or update or add products to their lineup, it gets hard to keep track of the changes or components of the product. That is when they started using model numbers to identify each product. Then, a serial number was added to individualize their production further. When a new model is designed, it will get assigned a model number; as productions start, the first unit will get a serial number. This progression of numbers can be used to identify when a unit is built or tell you when a change was made to the product. Example: Use this part number before serial number ###### and this part number after serial ######. We often hear the comment: “Aren’t they all the same”? The simple answer is sometimes, but most of the time, it is not. We won’t know until we look up the proper model identifications!
