We established this business back in 1973 as a repair service. At the same time, I was still in high school. I started doing the service work for Harold Shulfer, for his company, Arnott Recreation, a small retail establishment that sold Jacobsen equipment, Sno-Flite, and Chapparall snowmobiles, and mini-cycles. I did not sell whole goods until 1984 when I started to sell the Walker Mower. I am proud to say that I am probably one of the oldest dealers they have. We were recently awarded a plaque from them, signifying that we ranked 34th in size among their dealer network. After Herald passing, we purchase the property we are now located on and have brought in the lines he carried last. We only carry product lines that have shown their ability to give dependable support, allowing us to pass on steadfast support to the customers whom we serve. Today, as always, we deal fairly and honestly with our customers. We have learned through the years that dependable, fair dealing will keep you our customers coming back for more.
Today after 50 years in business, I am nearing retirement age. We don’t run a one-person shop anymore and have established ourselves as the dominant outdoor power equipment dealer in the area. Our family-run business will be the leader in this area for years to come. My children, Jeremy and Rick, have taken over control of the company, Jeremy, the service department, and Rick in the store. You won’t find that I have gone far, as I will probably be sitting in the corner, keeping an eye on things.
